Sunken Porcelain Patio in Heanor

The clients had a corner of the garden they couldn't get any use out of — the grass simply wouldn't grow there. But it was also the spot that caught the last of the evening sun, so it was far too good to waste.

Working together with the client, we came up with the idea of a sunken curved patio set into that corner, finished in porcelain with a radius retaining wall to hold back the surrounding ground. A new path and fresh turf tied the rest of the garden back together.

They've since had an outdoor TV fitted down there, and with their furniture and a fire pit in place it's now the perfect spot to relax on those late summer evenings.
