This website is operated by MIW Patios & Landscaping.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data responsibly and in line with UK data protection law. We are the data controller for the personal information collected through this website.

We may collect and process the following personal information when you use our website:

• Name
• Phone number
• Email address
• Address or location details, if you give them to us
• The details of the job you are asking about, including anything you enter into the instant quote calculator
• Anything else you write in the contact form

We only collect what we need to answer your enquiry and quote for the work. We do not take payment details through this website.

Your data is collected when you:

• Submit the contact form on our website
• Use the instant quote calculator and send us the result
• Contact us by phone or email

We do not collect unnecessary personal data, and we do not buy contact lists.

We use your personal data to:

• Respond to enquiries and quote requests
• Arrange site visits, quotes and start dates
• Carry out the work you have asked us to do and deal with any follow-up
• Keep our own records of jobs completed

Our lawful bases for this under UK GDPR are:

• Taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, when you send an enquiry or ask for a quote
• Performing the contract, where you go ahead with the work
• Legitimate interests, for keeping the website secure and filtering spam out of the forms
• Consent, for the optional analytics cookies described in Section 10

We never sell your data, and we do not use it for marketing you have not asked for.

Your personal data may be accessed by:

• MIW Patios & Landscaping, who quote for and carry out your work
• WAT Websites, who built and maintain this website and act as a data processor on our behalf

WAT Websites may access form submissions for technical support, website maintenance and performance monitoring purposes only.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to third parties.

We only share your data where it is necessary to run the website and reply to you. The service providers involved are:

• Vercel, who host the website
• Neon, the database where enquiries are stored
• Resend, which delivers the email alert telling us you have been in touch
• An automated spam filter, which includes an AI classifier from Anthropic, used to screen out junk submissions before they reach us
• Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies (see Section 10)

Some of these providers process data outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where that happens we rely on safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.

We may also share data where we are legally required to. All third parties are required to handle your data securely and in line with UK GDPR.

We keep enquiry and job records only for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, complete the work, answer any follow-up or guarantee questions, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. After that they are deleted.

Submissions our filters flag as spam are deleted rather than stored.

You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see Section 9).

We take appropriate security measures to protect your personal information, including:

• Secure, encrypted hosting and database access
• Access to enquiry records limited to the people who need it
• Ongoing website maintenance and monitoring

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Receive a copy of the data you gave us in a portable format
• Withdraw consent at any time, for example via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk

To exercise any of these rights, email us at jamie@miw-patiosandlandscaping.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, for example which pages people look at most. It does not tell us who you are.

Analytics cookies are only set if you press Accept on our cookie banner. If you choose "No thanks", nothing is stored on your device and Google only receives anonymous, cookieless signals it uses to estimate visitor numbers.

• _ga and _ga_ followed by a site code, set by Google Analytics, tell one visitor from another and track a single visit. They expire after 2 years.
• Your cookie choice is remembered in your browser for 6 months, then we ask again.
• We also use Vercel Analytics for basic traffic counts. It is cookieless, stores nothing on your device and needs no consent.

You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Withdrawing consent deletes any Google Analytics cookies already set. You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date.
