What affects the final price?

Every job is different. These are the main factors that push a quote up or down.

Size of the area

The biggest driver of cost. Larger areas use more materials and take more labour, but the cost per m² often drops slightly on bigger jobs.

Material choice

The material you choose can almost double the price. Porcelain is premium; concrete slabs are the most affordable without sacrificing quality.

Ground conditions

Breaking up concrete or tarmac costs more than preparing bare soil. Uneven or sloped ground also adds time and labour.

Access to the site

If machinery can't get close, more work is done by hand. Tight rear gardens or limited parking for vehicles can add to the cost.

Time of year

Spring and summer are busier, which can affect availability. Some work (especially turfing) is best done in autumn for best results.
